Pre-Speech Communication Strategies –
Postcard Mailing
This is my first direct contact with the potential participant. It’s always a card with the cover of one of my books, or a great testimonial from a participant from a previous seminar. The back of the cards are ALWAYS hand-written and “tease” or announce the upcoming speech (usually sent a 3-4 weeks in advance.)
Postcard text I’ve written:
Come to the Tennessee Speakers Association meeting on March 10th and I’ll help you get 100% of the business from 100% of your customers.
I hope to see you in Anaheim for the HIA Retailer University on January 30th. I’ll help you make more money by helping your retailers make more money.
The text always announces the event to jog a memory AND a benefit statement to drive the decision to attend.
