Selling Your Books Throughout Your Speech
Sometimes it’s difficult to work in a book promo during your speech. Sometimes you are not permitted to.
4ProfitSpeakingSM Method to Sell Your Books Without “Selling Your Books
· Give some away as door prizes or as rewards for doing something. I ask my participants to bring a homework assignment with them that I have previously mailed.
· When presenting your book to the “winner” walk right up to them, and sign it while you are standing there. This keeps the attention of the audience on your book that much longer. (and lets them know you are willing to sign one for them as well)
· When discussing your book, find a place to read the chapter titles – at least one of the titles will interest every person
· Have your speech introduction include:
· title(s) of your books
· some “big” ideas from it
· testimonials
· Whenever you tell a story that is also in your book, pick it up and look like you are referring to the story for a few seconds
· When doing a promo for the book, introduce it in such a way that the audience will really want it, like “The information/idea/secrets/concepts in this book will change the way you do business/manage change/manage time/relate to your spouse/ _______ -- (pause) forever!
· Give your book as a gift for the meeting planner/sponsor when he/she comes back on stage after your speech
· If you use your book as a drawing prize, refer to the drawing 2-3 times before doing it. This gives multiple attention to your book and creates anticipation!
· Offer a no-risk, money-back guarantee. “If the ideas in this book are not worth $ ____ (price paid), return it to me for a full refund, no questions asked.
