How To Distribute Your E-Newsletter
A few rules for getting your e-newsletter read:
· Only email it to people who request it. Besides being illegal in many states, sending an electronic newsletter to someone who didn’t ask for it (spamming) is a big waste of your effort. The “non-qualified” recipient will not read your newsletter and worse, will end up resenting you for filling their electronic mail box with unwanted material.
· Invite every customer or qualified prospect to subscribe to your newsletter. Show them the benefits of doing so through direct contact, direct mail, in your invoices and throughout your website.
· Establish a regular, consistent mailing schedule. Once a month is generally not enough to establish recognition, and more than twice a month gets obnoxious.
· Consider using a list management company to store your database and deliver your mail. Costs are quite reasonable and include lots of services, such a duplicate/deleting, updating directly from your website etc. Let a professional handle this job and you can focus on what you do best.
· Don’t be tempted to purchase large lists of potential newsletter subscribers. They tend to contain names of people who love to sign up for free stuff but are not qualified as your prospect. The best prospect for your newsletter are people who know you or referred to you by people who know you.
