Competing in Non-Competitive Environments Case Study: “Do the Work and Get the Results”
I approached the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce with an idea to conduct a two-hour seminar on relationship marketing for business owners. I offered to speak free and donate registration fees to the Chamber, design and print the brochure, and promote the seminar to my own database of business owners.
A similar Chamber-sponsored seminar program had been drawing 15-25 people. With my involvement in the marketing of the seminar, we drew 103 people! While I waived my fee I sold 70 books and generated over $13,000 in consulting business!
