You gotta be an expert. You gotta have great content. And you gotta be good at delivering it.
An expert who can’t demonstrate expertise with content is an expert in their own mind only. Having one-of-a-kind material is worthless if you can’t communicate it interestingly and motivationally. And no great orator ever got hired the second time if he/she had nothing of value to say.
You need all three—expertise, content, delivery—but you don’t have to be perfect to have a profitable educational material business. These requirements will forever be a work in progress. You’ll never be a total expert, your content will get better and you’ll become a more effective communicator.
I’m not going to sugar coat it for you. Nothing in this manual will work unless you are good—really good. Even really great! But don’t let being great keep you from starting the process of helping your clients and audiences be more successful by developing and marketing your educational materials.
Whatever success you will have now at your level (and you will be successful) will only get better as you improve each of the three requirements. I was selling to 25% of my audiences 2½ years ago and since that time I believe I’ve become more of an expert, developed better content and become a better speaker. In the process of getting better, I have more 35% sales days than I have 25% sales days!
It would be unethical for me to suggest that to make a lot of money with educational materials, all you have to do is follow my system. As if by magic and mirrors you can sell anyone anything.
This is not a system designed to fool people into investing in your materials. I don’t know how to do that and wouldn’t if I could.
Great news--if you are good and follow this system—you don’t have to fool anyone to buy anything. If you’re good, you can utilize these marketing techniques and some proven buying psychology to be incredibly successful.
I believe that time and effort spent trying to be a better expert and better speaker will serve you as well or better than just trying to be a better marketer.
