You Hate to Sell From the Platform?

Get Over It!

 

…or starve. How is it you can ask a client to give you a multi-thousand dollar check for a two-hour speech, but afraid to ask your audience to invest in a $119 manual that will ultimately do them more good then your speech itself? Don’t you believe in your own value? What are you afraid of?

 

§          Rejection? If you follow the system in this manual, you aren’t going to be rejected.

 

§          Embarrassment? About what? Giving your audience more value than they paid for?

 

§          Being unprofessional? Sorry, you gave up your amateur status long ago when you took money for a speech! My definition of “professional” is a person who gets paid by offering more value than they get paid. You cannot convince me that it’s professional to get paid for a speech, yet unprofessional to get paid for your information in writing. The most professional speakers I know give their audiences tools to make them more successful.

 

§          Being pushy? That’s just dumb. No one buys anything if they feel pushed into it. You are not going to be pushy because it’s bad business.

 

§          Being commercial? You’re already commercial—you’ve been paid for your speech. Instead, I think you are irresponsible if you don’t offer your audiences additional tools to make them more successful. How irresponsible is it to give a speech without the additional information needed to implement the concepts from your speech?

 

§          Being accepted? Your client hired you to help their members/audience be more successful. You’ll do them a disservice if you let them leave your program without the tools they need. They’ll keep doing the same dumb things your ideas are suppose to replace. If you really want to be accepted by your clients and audiences, help them!

 

YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO SELL FROM THE PLATFORM? Finally, a legitimate fear! I understand your reluctance to sell your materials from the platform if you don’t know how. It’s the only fear you are allowed to have and we can fix that.
